I have a lot of respect for how People magazine reports on celebrity and political news. I agree with reviewer "Alex" - this is definitely not a trash magazine! All of the information in People is credible and researched. Its reviews and ratings on popular culture topics such as movies, TV, books and music are top-notch! People does not report on solely positive/up-beat news or negative/upsetting news - this magazine simply reports on what is going on today. I also love People's annual special issues like "The Sexiest Man Alive," and seasonal special issues like "The Style Guide." There are so many reasons why a subscription to People magazine is worth the low fee for a whole year's worth of issues!

I have to disagree with the post below. Aside from delivering all of the latest celebrity gossip, which it is most known for, People does have journalistic credibility! Throughout the years this publication has remained in the forefront of celebrity news, leading all of the other magazines because of the fact that it has continued to deliver personal and human interest stories alongside all of the other material. Further, People's reporting is the most reliable, thoroughly researched and trustworthy source of celebrity news... above any Web site or competing "trash" mag. Plus, its Style Watch and special issues are incomparable. What other magazine of its kind (US Weekly, InStyle, etc.) ALSO keeps people in tune with big worldly events, issues and important political/public figures? None!

I have been a loyal subscriber for 10 years. I am not going to renew next year. It seems what used to seperate your magazine from the others has changed. I feel like I am subcribed to a grocery store checkout. Trash like Lindsay, Paris, or Britney seem to be all that consumes your magazine now, and is not worthy of your covers. Please change your focus back to more positive news and soon!! Trish Waterson, South Elgin, IL.

If you need to know what’s going on in the celebrity world.. this is the magazine for you! But People is more than just great pictures, interesting tidbits about celebrities lives and human interest stories. It’s reviews of books , music, movies and the crossword puzzle which all combine to make this magazine interesting and fun to read. People is a total escape from everyday life and everyone who reads it looks forward to those special issues ( Years 50 most beautiful people ) and the year end issues when they come out. People doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is. Pure fun!
